Electric Vehicles - Tube Chassis
Each year, seniors in our Research and Development class are given an opportunity to apply the knowledge they've acquired over the past 4 years towards a capstone engineering project. In the Fall of 2013, twenty seniors collaborated with their instructor to design and fabricate an Innovative Concept Vehicle of their choosing. This project gives students real-world experience while using rational design methodology to find solutions to multiple engineering problems.
Once again Dakota R&D students prove they can take any material and produce something uniquely different than any other high school engineering program in the country. These students were busy designing and fabricating their new concept tube chassis projects which include two off-road 4x4 electric vehicles. With added custom front and rear articulating long travel suspensions, students are taking similar concepts in design and material commonly used in the racing industry to fabricate unique vehicles that will be tested to their full potential.
None of these major projects would be possible without our wonderful sponsors.......THANK YOU.
